I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel in Asgardstrand for a weekend getaway. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the spacious rooms provided plenty of space to relax. I was blown away by the fantastic views from the hotel, and parking was never an issue. The highlight of my stay was experiencing the area and even touching the door-handle of Munch's house. The hotel itself was lovely, with beautiful artwork and cozy lounges. The dinner and breakfast served were absolutely delicious, prepared by amazing cooks and accompanied by excellent service. I can't wait to return to this beautiful hotel in such a perfect location.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The location is uniquely beautiful, the food was very good, also the breakfast buffet.
Rooms in need of renovation, during the breakfast everything was already rearranged for an event, so that one could hardly get to the buffet. 3-star hotel, which deserves at most one.

The cleanliness in the village and in the hotel can hardly be surpassed. One always feels (positively) like in a museum. The hotel is the best in the suburbs and plays its œuvre (very well). We were in very good hands here and also dined extremely well.

Idyllic, peacful & restful location on Fjord-side, with uninterrupted fjord & island views - especially in winter. Very friendly & nicely run hotel. Excellent food. Easy access from Horton ferry if arriving from Moss/Rygge airport, but buses infrequent, especially Sundays.
If travelling on sundays buses from Horton ferry only run every 2 hours.Everything tends to shut on sundays even the hotel restaurant ! Like most Scandinavian hotels they make up double beds with single bed linen which isn't so comfortable. Rooms dimly lit but they happily provided an extra light.

Very nice and helpful staff. The location directly on the beach was really great.
Unfortunately there was no box/ clothes rack. The water pressure of the shower was not very good either.

The hotel is beautifully located right in front of the harbor in a quaint little town perfect for a short getaway. The train station is also conveniently just a short walk away. The view from the room overlooking the marina was stunning. The breakfast spread had a good selection of food.

Wake up with a fresh sea breeze blowing through the window. The hotel offers panoramic views of the Oslo Fjord, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for your stay. Enjoy dining at the Seilet Restaurant with stunning ocean views, it's like having a meal in a painting. The large outdoor terrace provides a tranquil setting, allowing you to relax and soak in the beautiful harbor views.
Misleading information about the parking fee.

This hotel is ideal for those who love being close to the sea, as it is located in a quaint little harbour town. The rooms may be outdated, but they have a touch of old times grandeur. Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast while overlooking the beautiful sea view from the terrace. The receptionists are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the hotel offers convenient facilities like outlets and a teapot.
Some aspects of cleanliness and maintenance need improvement.

Spent Easter at a hotel by the water. Loved the sea view and the coastal path, perfect for walks and jogging. The breakfast buffet was a delight, and the lunch and dinner menus offered a variety of dishes. The hotel's unique conference rooms are equipped with modern technology and, being near the harbor, it's easy to rent a boat and explore the sea.
The hotel is located in a small, quiet town with only a few restaurant options. the rooms were a bit old-fashioned and basic, lacking some amenities.
